PB-10 Presence detector with person counterEverybody knows the 2 problems with the use of movement detectors for a room light control: No movement - no light after a while or the light is still on, even if the last person already left the room... Here is the solution: The PB-10 is attached besides of the door of a room. The PB-10 recognizes the direction of motion of a person through the door with the assistance of 2 independent infrared sensors. At the same time an internal person counter saves the number of persons, who enter or leave the area by the door. An internal relay will switch on if the number of persons in the room is >1 and will switch off if all persons left the room and the person counter is down to zero. The PB-10 is equipped with an RS485 interface, over which several devices at different doors in the area can "talk" to each other in order that all devices always know the correct current person's number in the room. 3 internal dip switches allow different modes like changes the relay switch mode from the toggle function to a "push button" function so that the PB-10 can simply integrated in any room control system. The trigger distance is adjustable up to 1m. Please note that a few black clothes don´t reflect the infrared signal very good what might result in a change of the adjusted trigger distance and a lower person result in the counter. For this case an external standard light switch can be connected to the PB-10. So, the user can switch the light manualy and reset the counter if one of the devices hadn´t accidental recognize a person. An additional display unit PB-10D is available, with which the current person's number up to 255 persons can be displayed. Specifications:
