The Smart DI

There are hundreds of different di box models for little money on the market. Our target was not to build one more standard di. We just wanted to to do something better, even when the sales price is higher, compared to other models and the quantities of sales are smaller.

You know the "funny" problems when it comes to di boxes: No signal bargraph, the result is "marathon running" between stage and desk and looking for signals - No possible fine adjustment of the input signal - A loud "Plopp" when connect or remove an input connector. These problems are now past. The new "Smart DI" have an integrated microcontroller and an LCD display. The impulse responses and the distortion values on low frequencies are better compared to other di´s due to the transformerless design. The XLR output is muted if no connector is plugged in and will be switched on after about 0,8 sec. if an input connector will be plugged in. A footswitch alowes the artist to mute the Smart DI again if necessary. The output signal can be adjusted exactely with a trimpot. A bargraph supports the fine adjustement. The input impedance can be switched between 500 k-Ohm and 2 M-Ohm in order to prevent high impedance sources from sound coloration. 5 dip switches allow the user an exact adjustement to his needs. The "Smart DI" works with 48V phantom power as well with an external 12V supply. 5 dip switches allow the user an exact configuration to his needs.
